tornado
tear up

remember when…
those were the days
today has been
our tenth anniversary
except we’re no longer
together so technically
you can’t call it
an anniversary but
technically she
sent me a sweet
note reminder
a historic day
and we are not
wanting to kill
each other…
I have to
be thankful
for that and also
the good memories
we shared as a couple
for more
than ten years

even this journal has
remained relatively
spotless
very little jabs
at her

more than anything
I want to heal
myself after
everything I’ve
been through
and put myself
through
