mind off of work

letting the world
know I
have a life
of work…
a coffee
poem chopped
in half
by hunger
and a grumble
for Thai food
the new
a spot where
you enter
and have
to pinch
thinking maybe
you’re not in

sun that comes
in heavy shifts
across to the other
side of the street
giving me a break

a friend and I are
swapping comics
Invisibles, Transmet
& 100 Bullets
hours upon
hours of reading

I wonder
who it
will turn us into
if we will create our
own origami time machine
and get
the hell out of here
